Which London surgeon used a skin graft introduced with a specially designed trocar to repair hypospadias?
A. BrowneMcIndoe. Sir Archibald McIndoe used a skin graft passed through the penile shaft using a trocar, but the method had problems. Even if the graft survived, it contracted and stenosed. He had better luck with a similar technique for vaginal reconstruction, about which he delivered the Hunterian Oration - entitled: “Inlay grafting with special reference to obliterative conditions of the vagina”, at The Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1940.
