Comment:

Pregnant women should not be vaccinated against varicella or MMR during pregnancy, because the effects on the fetus are unknown. Women should wait 1 month after vaccination to become pregnant. Influenza vaccine is recommended for all pregnant women during all trimesters, due to the potential severe effects of the disease on pregnant women. Pregnancy is not a contraindication to hepatitis B vaccination. Limited data suggest that there are not adverse fetal effects due to this vaccine. It should be considered in pregnant women who are at increased risk for hepatitis B. HPV vaccination is not recommended during pregnancy. If a women is found to be pregnant during administration of the vaccine (which requires three doses), the remainder of the series should be delayed until pregnancy is complete.
